In Improv Character Lab, students ages 10–15 will learn to create funny, memorable characters on the spot using voice, movement, attitude, and imagination.
Students will play improv games, explore character-building exercises, and perform scenes while learning to make bold choices, support their teammates, and build confidence.
No scripts. No memorization. No auditions. Just imagination, teamwork, and a LOT of improv!

Experience: Previous improv or theatre experience is recommended, but not required. Students who are new to improv are welcome! We'll refresh the fundamentals during the first class so everyone can jump into the fun together.
The class concludes with a live family showcase, giving students the chance to perform the characters and skills they've developed throughout the session.
Taught by Grant Garrison, a graduate of the Second City Chicago Conservatory and iO Theater's Improv Acting Program, with more than 20 years of experience performing and teaching improv and sketch comedy.
